How My First Sale Gave Me Confidence

I have always loved designing. For me, it started as something simple—just experimenting, creating, and enjoying the process. One day, I designed a postcard and printed it and distributed it with a few people around me in free. It felt good, but after a few days, a thought came to my mind:

“Why not post it on social media? Maybe someone out there will like it. Maybe I can even earn something from it and get real feedback.”

With that small thought, I put my postcard design Instagram and Whatsapp. To my surprise, within minutes, I received a reply from my friend: “I want this.” And just like that, the person sent me money.

I was shocked and asked her why she had paid. She replied simply: “For the postcard.”

That moment changed something inside me. It wasn’t just about the money—it was about encouragement. I felt as if she was telling me, “Believe in your skills. Your work has value. Don’t be afraid to put it out into the world.”

That small gesture gave me the confidence to look at my passion in a new way. It was more than a sale; it was the beginning of seeing myself not just as someone who enjoys designing, but as someone who could actually build something meaningful out of it.
